ArtArc is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. The reference — the full timeline and its stories — is free to use.
ArtArc offers an optional upgrade, ArtArc Plus, which unlocks additional features such as unlimited Style Detective, every detail pack and comparison, and saveable wallpapers. Plus is available as an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time “Lifetime” purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours beforehand. Payment is charged to your Apple Account, and you can manage or cancel any time in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions. Payments are processed by Apple under the Apple Standard End User License Agreement; we never receive or store your payment details.
The app’s design, text, and timeline narrative are the property of Butterfly Bombarby and are protected by copyright. The artworks shown in the app come from public-domain and museum open-access collections and are credited on their detail pages; those images belong to the public or to their respective institutions under open-access terms.
ArtArc is a popular reference written for the curious, not an academic publication. While we work hard to get the history right, the app is provided for general information and enjoyment.
ArtArc is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Butterfly Bombarby is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app.
